We hope this website will be helpful and informative. Given the wide array of projects and activities underway in Town, and the limited opportunities to communicate with each of you, the Board of Selectmen have decided to initiate a stronger online presence. This is where you will find information on how to conduct business with our town office, information on our town government, and much more. We welcome your comments and/or concerns. Please check back often as the site will be adding new content and updates.

SPECIAL PLANNING BOARD MEETING. The Farmingdale Planning Board will be holding a special meeting on November 15, 2011 at 7pm as well as at our normal time on November 29, 2011. On the 15th, we will be reviewing an Electronic Sign Ordinance and an ordinance dealing with fireworks usage in Farmingdale. We heard from a resident at our last meeting concerned with the use of certain guns on the east side of the turnpike. Presently, there is a ban on certain rifles being used in this area, but he was concerned with the capabilities of some of the newer ammunitions that could be used in the guns that are allowed. The Board will be looking into this in December or January.

CHANGES TO ABSENTEE VOTING POLICY. There are changes in the absentee voting policy. Effective with the November 8, 2011 Referendum Election, there is now a law in place which prohibits absentee voting 3 business days prior to the election. This means if anyone opts to absentee vote they will need to do it no later than November 3, 2011. As the election is on a Tuesday, this would mean they would need to vote no later than the Thursday before. For more information, please contact the Town Office.

MESSAGE FROM HARBORMASTER. September/October Update. After two calls to the Coast Guard, the marker buoys (red & green) have been placed back on the appropriate stations all the way to Augusta. 47B which is the green can just north of Foggy-Bottom Marina had moved about 500yds south but still looked like it was on station so a lot of inexperienced boaters ran into the rocks. No personal injuries but expensive motor repairs I'm sure. Lesson= take nothing for granted when on the Kennebec. Buoys north of Gardiner will be gone from the middle of October till spring. Big barge at Brown's island trying to finish new tower before ice. Have a great winter. Dan Alexander Harbor Master
